The Fire and Rescue Service in Habo Municipality has a broad mandate. We are responsible for fire and accident prevention work, operational rescue services, and the municipality's coordination within security, crisis preparedness, and civil defense. We also work with safety and crime prevention issues and support the municipality's operations in their security work. We are a small department with approximately 30 employees, of which five work daytime hours and the rest are part-time firefighters. The position is based at the fire station in Habo, where you will have your primary workplace together with the other daytime staff. Our small organization is one of our strengths. You will become part of a team of five employees where different competencies complement each other. Two of you work as Security and Preparedness Coordinators and jointly responsibility for developing the municipality's work within security, crisis preparedness, and civil defense. Other employees work daily with other parts of the rescue service's mandate. Together, you bring different competencies and help each other when operations require it. You will work with risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity planning, civil defense, training, exercises, and current security matters. You will work closely with your colleague in security and preparedness, and together you will develop the municipality's capacity based on operational needs, legal requirements, and national objectives. During societal disruptions, you are an important part of the municipality's crisis management organization. The role is broad and also involves supporting colleagues and, when needed, contributing to other parts of the department, such as the rescue service's operational or preventive activities. Work tasks are distributed and can be adapted to some extent based on competency, experience, strengths, and operational needs. In this role, you will, among other things: • coordinate and develop work within security, crisis preparedness, and civil defense • support the municipality's departments and companies in security and preparedness matters • work with risk and vulnerability analyses and continuity planning • plan and conduct training and exercises • develop the crisis management organization and participate in societal disruptions • work with security protection as well as safety and crime prevention issues • coordinate work in preparation for heightened readiness • collaborate with authorities, the region, other municipalities, and other actors • implement legislation and regulatory requirements into practical work • when needed, contribute to the rescue service's and department's other operations. We are looking for you who have • academic education in, for example, societal security, crisis preparedness, risk management, political science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent • experience working within security, crisis preparedness, civil defense, or other relevant activities • strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish • good digital competency • a class B driver's license. It is advantageous if you have experience in municipal operations • security protection • continuity planning • risk and vulnerability analyses • project management • planning and conducting training and exercises • work within fire and rescue services, total defense, the judicial system, or other socially important operations. The employment is placed in a security classification, which means Swedish citizenship is required. A security vetting with registry check will be conducted according to the Security Protection Act before employment. The position involves war-time placement in Habo Municipality.
