Ventspils State City Municipality Institution "Ventspils City Council Administration" invites applications for the position of Marketing and Tourism Department Head (indefinite employment contract): Main responsibilities: Organize and manage department operations, ensuring task completion, employee work supervision and professional development, as well as providing recommendations for improving department performance. Coordinate Ventspils city marketing, communications, and tourism strategic planning and development, ensuring implementation of guidelines, situation analysis, introduction of current trends, and development of city recognition and positive image. Coordinate and oversee Municipal marketing, communications, public information, and engagement activities, ensuring unified Ventspils city image development, official information dissemination, cooperation with media, feedback processing, and communications improvement. Direct and oversee the Tourism Information Center operations and tourism development, ensuring promotion of Ventspils tourism offerings, information accessibility, cooperation with industry partners, statistical analysis, and development of new tourism products. Coordinate and oversee Municipal marketing, communications, and tourism project, event, and campaign planning, implementation, publicity, and marketing materials development. Represent the department and Municipality within your competence scope, participate in Municipality management processes and visits, coordinate cooperation with involved institutions and partners, and prepare and present Municipality positions to the public and media. Coordinate public participation, residents' submissions and opinions review, organization of surveys and research, and use of results for Municipality work improvement, as well as monitor information related to Ventspils image and Municipality activities in media. Individual qualifications and skills requirements: Higher education, preferably in management sciences, public relations management, marketing, economics, tourism management, legal sciences, or other field related to organizational management, communications, or development planning. Preferred minimum 3 (three) years of professional experience in a leadership position in marketing, public relations, communications, tourism, or similar field, as well as experience in project management, process coordination, and team leadership. Understanding of communications, marketing, and communications principles, including communications strategy, public information, and engagement mechanisms. Knowledge of public administration principles, municipal functions and regulatory framework, as well as understanding of municipal structure and work organization. Knowledge of city marketing, branding, and reputation building, as well as ability to ensure unified and purposeful city image development. Understanding of social media account administration and digital communications activity planning. Ability to independently plan and organize your work, meeting established deadlines. Precision, high sense of responsibility, and ability to work with information. Good cooperation and communication skills when working with various involved parties. State language knowledge at the highest level. At least one foreign language knowledge for communication with cooperation partners. Good digital skills and ability to use modern communications and content creation tools.
