We are now looking for you to train as a Train Driver at Roslagsbanan. You will receive paid training and become part of an important public service mission. Roslagsbanan operates three lines from Östra Station toward northern Stockholm and Roslagen, with final stations in Kårsta, Österskär, and Näsbypark. We run nearly around the clock and transport approximately 55,000 passengers every day. Approximately 250 employees work at Roslagsbanan today — and now we want to grow. Who are we looking for? We are looking for you who: have turned 20 years old (Required by Law 2011:725 on Qualifications for Train Drivers) master the Swedish language very well in both speech and writing We place great emphasis on your personal qualities: Responsibility: it is important that train drivers are reliable and thorough because they have great responsibility for passenger safety and punctuality Strong safety mindset: A strong safety mindset ensures that work is performed professionally and with safety as the focus in all situations Concentration and stress tolerance: The work may involve unexpected situations but you maintain concentration, remain attentive, and act correctly Independence: Train drivers work alone and need to be able to make decisions independently and responsibly, even though there is close communication with traffic control Good communication skills: You collaborate effectively with colleagues and can communicate clearly with passengers and traffic control It is a great plus (but not required) if you have: approved certification from train driver training and valid train driver's license previous experience as a train driver or locomotive operator an interest in technology since the work involves handling and understanding technical equipment Selection Process We look forward to your application and use different methods to get to know you and better understand your personal qualities. Selected candidates will complete an initial online selection test. This is followed by personal interviews and occupational psychological tests designed according to the Transport Authority's requirements. You must also meet the Transport Authority's health requirements, which means you must undergo a traffic medicine examination and demonstrate that you have no problems with alcohol or drugs. About the Position If you are hired, you will start with: - 3 months of training (paid) - 6 months probation starting simultaneously with training After successful completion of training, you will work as a Train Driver at Roslagsbanan with secure employment terms according to collective agreement. You will be stationed at one of our depots. At Vallentuna depot near Molnby or at Stockholm Östra.
