Your Role as Radiologic Technologist/Nurse
As a radiologic technologist/nurse in mammography, you will work with mammography screening and related follow-up, as well as clinical mammography activities including ultrasound, breast biopsies, and aspirations. You will also handle phone support and consultations, and participate in multidisciplinary conferences.
Your primary workplace is at County Hospital Ryhov in Jönköping. However, mammography services are provided across the county, so you must be able to work at Värnamo Hospital and Höglandet as needed. For this reason, you need to have a valid driver's license.
This is a permanent full-time position with a start date by agreement. Regular working hours are daytime, Monday through Friday, although weekend work occasionally occurs at present.
Your Future Workplace
The Mammography Unit is part of the County Radiology Clinic in Region Jönköping. The unit performs approximately 10,000 clinical examinations and 36,000 health screenings annually. Clinical services are located in Jönköping. Health screenings take place in Jönköping, in the mobile mammography unit on Höglandet, and at Värnamo Hospital's radiology department. We are approximately 30 employees, and the team welcoming you consists of breast radiologists, radiologic technologists, nurses, nursing assistants, and healthcare administrators. The IT system used in mammography is called Sectra RIS/PACS.
In radiology, we strive constantly to perform our work with high quality and treat our patients in the best way possible. We are certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and continuously monitor our operations and make changes where needed.
Mammography in the county has six mammography units, four of which are at County Hospital Ryhov in Jönköping where the mammography unit moved into newly built and well-adapted facilities in 2021. One mammography unit is in a mobile unit for health screenings on Höglandet, and one is at Värnamo Hospital's radiology department. You will have the opportunity to work in an excellent work environment with modern technology, regardless of which location you work at.

Your Profile
We are looking for you who are a licensed radiologic technologist and want to become our new colleague at the mammography unit. We also welcome you who are a licensed general nurse or specialist nurse and want to broaden your knowledge and experience in mammography. Radiology is a development-intensive field. Therefore, we would like to see that you enjoy working in such an environment – we promise to get you excited about radiology as much as we are!
To thrive in these duties, you need to enjoy having significant patient contact, and it is important that you feel comfortable meeting patients in difficult situations. It is also important that you enjoy working independently and in a structured manner, while collaborating with the team to provide our patients with the best possible care. Since no two days are alike, you need to be flexible. An examination can lead to several other examinations, and this is often unknown in advance. You have a positive attitude and interest in helping others, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
