Resource Specialist for Child with Type 1 Diabetes

Morkullan is a preschool with approximately 20 children, located in a villa adapted for the operations with views over Gimåt and Höglandssjön. The preschool is operated as a parent cooperative in close collaboration between parents and staff. Would you like to work with us? We are now seeking staff with solid experience in Type 1 diabetes who want to work as a resource at Morkullan. What can we offer you? We are looking for you to work as a resource person for a 4-year-old child with type 1 diabetes. Your role is to provide the child with security and support in managing diabetes during the preschool day. Your future tasks Monitor and support the child's blood sugar levels according to agreed-upon routines and manage insulin dosing, carbohydrate counting, and meals. You should be a trusted adult when signs of high/low blood sugar appear. You are near the child during movement within the preschool and during outings. You document according to the preschool's routines as needed and follow medical recommendations and instructions. The role also includes You will work closely with our staff and guardians to ensure that the child has a secure and functional preschool experience. Who are you? Knowledge of and solid experience with type 1 diabetes is highly desirable. Experience working with children is welcome but not required. You are confident in yourself, responsible, and have an empathetic personality. You have good communication skills and the ability to cooperate. You need to be calm and action-oriented in situations where the child's health is affected. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
