SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog is seeking a Principal SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog in Örkelljunga is a specialized youth residential facility that serves non-compulsory school age girls with psychosocial challenges, substance abuse issues, and self-harm problems. We have 32 placements distributed across five units for girls aged 16–21 years. SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog is part of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens Institutionsstyrelse), see www.stat-inst.se. Girls are placed at Ljungaskog by their home municipalities under the LVU (Care of Young Persons Act). SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog operates a school year-round for its residents. Teaching is based on students' needs and conditions within the framework of the upper secondary school's introductory program. Job Description SiS is undergoing comprehensive transformation with development occurring on multiple levels simultaneously. Then the position of Principal at SiS is meaningful work where you are responsible for the school operations at one of our youth homes. As Principal at SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog, you will have the opportunity to develop the school and be part of the entire youth home's management work. You will be responsible for school operations and the implementation of good structures and working methods. You report to the Institution Director and are part of the institution's management group. You are also part of the national Principal group consisting of 22 principals led by the School Director and the School Section at headquarters. As Principal, you have overall responsibility for operating the school according to applicable regulations and are the school's pedagogical leader with responsibility for personnel, finance, results, and work environment. You have overall responsibility for the school's pedagogical development and ensuring that instruction is directed toward national goals. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you need good capabilities to exercise strong leadership, which means taking responsibility for the whole and realizing SiS's vision and goals through quality development work. We seek a person who truly cares about our students, their rights and needs, and who should have a strong focus on finding individual solutions to ensure functioning school attendance for all. You involve your colleagues in our development work and create conditions for active employee engagement and a learning organization. The Principal role requires strong collaboration skills both within the institution and with our partners in social services and educational administration to ensure continuous schooling where students' right to education is central. You must also have: • Subject teacher certification and several years of experience working in lower/upper secondary school • Completed or in-progress Principal training • Experience in a management position within school • Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written • Class B driver's license It is meritorious if you: • Are a special educator, special teacher, or study and career counselor • Have experience working with students with special needs • Have experience from the upper secondary school's introductory program Personal Qualities: • Ability to create engagement and participation • Good collaboration skills • Strong communication skills • Good organizational and structural ability • Relationship-building skills • Stress resilience We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
