SiS youth home Bärby, located outside Uppsala, admits non-compulsory school age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse problems. Job Description SiS is undergoing comprehensive changes where operations are being developed on multiple levels simultaneously. Then the position of Rector at SiS youth home Bärby is meaningful work where you take on important responsibility for school operations. As rector, you have overall responsibility for running the school in accordance with applicable regulations and are the school's pedagogical leader with responsibility for personnel, finances, results, and work environment. You have overall responsibility for the school's pedagogical development and ensuring that teaching is directed toward national educational goals. You report to the facility director and are part of the facility's management group. You are also part of the national rector group consisting of 22 rectors led by the School Director and the School Section at headquarters. SiS youth home Bärby currently has 48 places and admits non-compulsory school age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse problems. Students typically study within the introductory program; individual alternative or language introduction. There are also compulsory school students and students in adapted school forms. The majority of students at SiS have experienced difficulties with schoolwork and have significant need for support in their education. Teaching is conducted in smaller teaching groups. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you need good conditions to exercise good leadership, which means taking responsibility for the whole and realizing SiS vision and goals through developmental quality work. The rector position requires strong collaborative skills both within the institution and with partners in social services and education administration for continuous schooling where students' right to education is central. You must also have: Teacher's degree Rector training or rector training in progress Experience working as a rector or assistant rector Experience from upper secondary school introductory programs Excellent Swedish language skills, spoken and written Class B driver's license We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
