Increased learning - equity - meeting places; three important core values that permeate all work in Nässjö Municipality's schools, a medium-sized municipality with approximately 30,000 residents in the Småland highlands. To realize this, the municipal council has adopted a strategic and long-term development initiative for preschool and schools in Nässjö Municipality. Within the Children and Education Department, we work deliberately and purposefully to give each child and student the tools needed to seek knowledge throughout life. The goal is for each child and student to develop according to their abilities and to feel joy and pride in their successes. Nyhemsskolan is an F–6 school with approximately 400 students and around 70 committed staff members. The school is centrally located in Nässjö with convenient walking distance to both bus and train stations. Over the past year, the school has undergone extensive renovation and expansion, meaning that activities today take place in bright, modern, and well-equipped facilities with a purposefully designed schoolyard. We have a well-developed student health service that works closely with instruction and contributes to creating the best conditions for student learning and well-being. Our school development team, together with an experienced and collaborative staff group, works in close collaboration in work teams. Special education is provided extensively within the classroom framework, enabling flexible and inclusive support measures. In recent years, our development work has focused on relationship-building and inclusive behavior support (IBIS). This has led to our shared values work KRAM – knowledge, relationships, responsibility, and motivation. The school also works with clear expectation documents that clarify desired behavior in different environments throughout the school day. We strive to create a learning environment where safety, study focus, well-being, and work enjoyment go hand in hand with high expectations for students' knowledge development. We are now seeking a principal who wants to take over and continue developing Nyhemsskolan together with committed staff members. You are a leader who sees possibilities, builds trusting relationships, and has a strong focus on both knowledge results and safety and study focus. JOB DUTIES As principal of Nyhemsskolan, you lead, together with the department manager and committed staff members, the school's continued development. You have overall responsibility for the quality and results of operations, as well as for personnel, finances, and work environment. You drive and develop a well-structured systematic quality process where analysis, follow-up, and targeted measures contribute to strengthening students' knowledge development and the school's goal achievement. As a leader, you are clear, present, and relationship-building. You create trust through participation and communicative leadership, while having the ability to make decisions and maintain direction in development work. You work purposefully with high expectations and have a strong focus on creating good conditions for both student learning and staff professional development. In your role, you have access to strong organizational support with a department manager, student health service, and lead teachers, as well as central support functions within student health, finance, HR, and safety. You are also part of the municipality's principal network, where you together with other principals contribute to collegial learning and equitable development of schools in Nässjö Municipality. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has teacher education at the higher education level and experience working in elementary school. You have good knowledge of school's steering documents and are well familiar with the principal's role according to school law and the curriculum. You have documented experience leading operations, preferably in a school leadership role, and are confident in taking overall responsibility for operations, personnel, finances, and work environment. You have good ability to drive and develop a systematic quality process where analysis and follow-up are translated into concrete improvements. As a leader, you are clear, structured, and persistent. You are relationship-building and communicative, with the ability to create engagement, participation, and trust in the organization. You can make well-founded decisions and maintain a clear direction, even in complex situations. You have a strong focus on students' knowledge development and work purposefully with high expectations for both students and staff. At the same time, you care for a good work environment and contribute to staff professional development. We see that you thrive in collaboration with others and actively contribute to collegial learning, both at your own school and in the municipality's principal network. Meritorious is completed or ongoing national principal education. Salary form: Monthly salary. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Start date: 2026-12-01 or by agreement.
