Welcome to us! Your responsibilities As principal of the upper secondary school, you are responsible for operations, personnel, and finances. You have personnel responsibility for approximately 30-35 employees. You will report directly to an area manager and be part of the leadership group for Linnégymnasiet and Linköping Sports Gymnasium. The school has administrative support, a student wellness team, study and career counselors, and a librarian. In your role, you will work closely with your principal colleagues and together collaborate on goals and organization, as well as drive the student wellness team's work. A major part of your role is pedagogical leadership, where operational development based on the needs of the operation and students is in focus. You actively work for a good working environment for staff and students as a foundation for learning. Your workplace Linnégymnasiet is a municipal school with a central location in Linköping. The school offers four vocational programs, two upper secondary education preparation programs, and three introduction programs. The current principal position will be responsible for the Sales and Service Program (FS) and the Children and Recreation Program (BF). We constantly strive to offer students a safe and stimulating study environment to develop both personally and academically. At our school, students meet engaged and well-educated teachers who support and inspire development and well-being. Linköping Municipality has a strong range of support functions to assist operations on multiple levels. We also have an established management development program and offer leaders development support for good leadership. Working hours are daytime, Monday-Friday. For principals, trust-based working hours apply. About you We are looking for someone with a pedagogical university degree and completed principal training. You have experience working in schools and are well-versed in the upper secondary school curriculum and governing documents. We see that you have previous experience working as an assistant principal or principal. You have good knowledge and experience in student wellness work, workplace environment work, and systematic quality work. Experience in upper secondary schools and with vocational programs is a merit. It is desirable that you have experience building good relationships. Good Swedish in speech and writing is necessary to communicate messages in the operation and to handle documentation related to the position. As a leader, you are confident in your professional role and have good pedagogical insight, placing the student's needs and goals in focus. Your leadership is characterized by your ability to create participation and consensus around the operation and to lead with a distributed and present leadership style. As a present leader, you create a workplace where employees thrive and develop. Collaboration and cooperation are a natural part of the assignment, and we see it as a matter of course that you can cooperate and create contacts and good relationships. You listen attentively to others and have the ability to resolve conflicts in a constructive way. You have the courage to think and do new things and see opportunities in change. Furthermore, you work toward goals and are guided by goal and results thinking in your daily priorities, planning, and actions. Finally, you have a realistic belief in your own abilities and possess the ability to analyze and break down problems into their components to solve them.
