Kulturskolan Raketen is an independent, non-profit primary school located in Björkhagen. This fall, we have a total of 254 students from preschool through grade 9. The school has been operating for over 30 years and is well-established in the community. Our profile is "Culture, Environment, and Justice," and we work according to the principle "a child has many languages," which means we integrate aesthetic subjects with theoretical subjects in what we call theme-based learning, starting from preschool. The atmosphere at the school is calm, students are ambitious, and teachers are experienced. We are now seeking a principal who can continue to develop and manage this operation. The position is full-time (100%) with a permanent contract and a 6-month probationary period. As principal, you have overall responsibility for all operations and hold responsibility for personnel, finances, work environment, and quality. To thrive in the principal role, you need to value cultural expressions and aesthetic learning processes, prioritize collaboration, and adopt a relational approach with both staff and students. As principal of a small independent school, you often balance operational and strategic matters, and you need to be skilled at making sound decisions in the moment as well as from a longer-term perspective. Assisting the principal in school leadership is an assistant principal with extensive experience in the operation.
