Our current director is planning to retire in early spring 2027, and we are now seeking an experienced, dedicated, and confident director for our wonderful preschool, where relationships, quality, and workplace joy are at the center. About the Preschool Maria Magdalena förskola is beautifully located high up on Mariaberget in Södermalm. We operate in a unique building with a large and lovely yard that invites abundant play and learning, and with a fantastic view over all of Stockholm! We have capacity for 70 children, and our staff is experienced and stable with a high proportion of preschool teachers. The operation is characterized by close collaboration between children, parents, and staff. Here you will find a warm work climate, short decision-making paths, and good opportunities to influence and develop the operation. The preschool is independent and operated by an association where the association's board serves as the principal. About the Position As director with us, you have overall responsibility for the preschool's internal organization, pedagogical activities with systematic quality work in focus, personnel and work environment responsibility, and budget responsibility. You are both strategic and operational, and enjoy being present in daily operations. Your main areas of responsibility: ● Lead, develop, and follow up on pedagogical activities in accordance with the School Act and Lpfö ● Oversee personnel management, competency development, and work environment ● Ensure quality, safety, and equity in the operation ● Maintain close and trusting collaboration with parents ● Maintain close and trusting collaboration with the board ● Manage budget and administrative tasks related to the position We are looking for someone who: ● Has preschool teacher training and extensive experience working in preschool ● Has leadership experience within preschool ● Is a clear, responsive, independent, and confident leader ● Has good organizational skills and works in a structured manner ● Has ideas and knowledge about developmental pedagogical learning environments ● Enjoys working in a smaller operation where you are close to both children and staff ● Has a coaching leadership style with the ability to recognize everyone's competencies It is an advantage if you have worked as a preschool director and if you have completed or begun director training.
