Responsibilities As Principal of Slottegymnasiet, you are responsible, together with the Vice Principal, for leading and developing the school with a focus on high quality and a strong sense of community. You have overall strategic and operational responsibility and lead the educational work with particular emphasis on teaching, knowledge development, and goal achievement. Through clear and long-term leadership, you ensure quality, working environment, economics, and budgets within the organization. You communicate and actively collaborate with various stakeholders both within and outside the school, and you follow developments in the external environment, always supported by the school's governing documents. A central part of your role is to drive forward the pedagogical development work with student results as the guiding objective. As part of the Learning Sector's leadership team, you also contribute to the broader work of making Ljusdal a safe and stimulating place for young people to grow up in and to create education of high quality. Together, we take responsibility for budget, working environment, union cooperation, and systematic quality work. Qualifications You have: A teaching degree or other pedagogical education that the employer deems equivalent. At least three years of experience working in the education sector and at least one year of experience as a Principal or Vice Principal. Experience in school leadership is a requirement – and if you have previously led other leaders, that is a merit. Principal training is a merit. For you to succeed in this role, we also see that you: Are a structured and clear leader who is used to translating direction into action – and who follows up on what you've said. Communicate expectations in a way that creates security. Are stable under pressure and brave enough to make decisions even when not everyone agrees – but you are also genuinely curious about the people around you and value a good working environment for both students and staff. Listen, are present, and understand that trust is not declared, it is earned over time. Can describe and implement systematic quality work so that it leads to development of the organization and student results. You have the ability to lead, motivate, and provide others with the authority needed to effectively reach common goals. You have pedagogical leadership that is close to teaching, take an active role in pedagogical discussions, and work to develop collegial learning so that everyone has the opportunity to take responsibility for their own and the school unit's development. Furthermore, you are driven by a commitment to school development and you are solution-focused, responsible, and development-oriented from a holistic perspective. For you to succeed in this assignment, your pedagogical leadership and your personal suitability are very important and we will place great weight on them in this recruitment.
