About the operation Welcome to Mora Folk High School with over 100 years of experience in conducting folk education for both young and old. Mora Folk High School with approximately 40 employees is one of three folk high schools within Region Dalarna. The school is within walking distance of Mora city center and has approximately 300 students, both on-site and at distance. In addition to residential activities for school participants, the school has external meal guests and tenants during short courses and conferences. Mora Folk High School has a clear profile where crafts, nature and culture form important parts of the school's identity and development. The school offers general courses and specialized courses with various focuses including crafts, fashion and outdoor activities. Mora Folk High School also includes a branch operation in Skattungbyn, Orsa Municipality, with a focus on cultivation, sustainability and nature-based learning. Through the values of folk education and the school's profile, conditions are created for creativity, personal development and active community participation. Collaboration with local cultural actors, associations, businesses and other community actors in Mora and the region is of great importance for the school's development and operations. Duties As principal, your main task is to work with your colleagues to continue developing and advancing the operations based on the idea of folk education and the school's profile in crafts, nature and culture. You are responsible for leading, planning and developing the pedagogical activities and creating good conditions for the school's continued development. By your side is a service manager responsible for the school's service operations, such as residential facilities, conferences, restaurant and facility-related matters. Together you form the school's management and work to ensure that all operations develop in collaboration with a common focus on quality, service and participants' experience. Collaboration with other folk high schools is an important part of the assignment, both for exchange of experience and common development. You have personnel responsibility for the school's employees and lead the organization through trustworthy leadership, clear direction and strong commitment to folk education. You work within a politically governed organization where Region Dalarna's Culture and Education Committee constitutes the school's board. The department manager for Culture and Education is your immediate supervisor and you are part of the department's management group together with other managers and principals. Qualifications Requirements: Relevant academic education, preferably in pedagogy or equivalent as deemed by the employer Previous managerial experience with full personnel, budget, work environment and operational responsibility B-class driving license, travel occurs in the position Very good knowledge of the Swedish language and communicative in both speech and writing Meritorious: Rector training in folk high school Experience of work in a politically governed organization Experience of collaborating with both municipal and state actors, and of establishing and maintaining collaborations internally between different functions and operational areas We are looking for a clear and confident leader with a humanistic value base, where democracy, sustainability and people's equal worth are central starting points. The ability to have a holistic perspective and handle complex issues combined with a structured approach from planning to implementation.
