The Culture and Education Department wants to offer the education, care, and inspiration that our small and large citizens need through different stages of life. The Culture and Education Department consists of two divisions - the School Division and the Preschool, Culture and Recreation Division. The School Division includes all school forms from preschool class to adult education as well as student health services. The Preschool Division includes all municipal preschools and family day care providers, while Culture and Recreation consists of the library, cultural school, and youth recreation. We are now seeking a principal for the municipality's largest F–6 school with attached after-school care, centrally located in Munkedal. The school is characterized by high goal achievement, well-functioning methods, and a strong, professional staff with great commitment to teaching and development. As principal, you will also be an important part of the School Division's management group, where there is a culture characterized by collaboration, holistic perspective, and shared responsibility. You are expected to take an overarching and solidaristic responsibility for the whole together with your colleagues. As principal in Munkedals Municipality, you are an important player in the entire department's development work. Description of the Work The role as principal involves leading a large and engaged operation where there is high competence and many perspectives. This requires clear, unifying, and experienced leadership. You are responsible for systematic work through clear pedagogical leadership as well as creating structure, direction, and implementing decisions in practice. The role includes leading continued development work where new methods are to be implemented, which requires perseverance and the ability to maintain focus and commitment over time. You need to be able to combine a clear mandate with a good ability to dialogue and collaborate. It is important that you can leverage your employees' engagement and perspectives while creating a common direction for the operation. As principal, you take full responsibility for the work environment for both students and employees and work in line with applicable governing documents and municipal guidelines. We are looking for someone with experience leading in a similar or equivalent complex operation. You are confident in your role as a leader, can make decisions and stand by them, and have a good ability to collaborate—both within the operation and in professional contexts. It is of great importance that you have good financial experience so that you can prioritize and optimize resources within given budget frameworks. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has pedagogical higher education. has substantial experience with leadership in school grades F-6. has good knowledge of school governing documents and systematic quality work. has documented experience and has successfully led larger organizations and change initiatives. has principal training or equivalent (meritorious).
