Who We Are
Children, education, leisure, and culture is one of four operational areas in Bengtsfors Municipality. Within this area, we are responsible for schools, preschools, arts school, student health services, libraries, etc. Bäckeskolan, located in the town of Bäckefors, is one of four primary schools in Bengtsfors Municipality. Approximately 70 students attend here, from preschool class through sixth grade, with afterschool care. The school has approximately 15 teachers and other staff who are well-versed in the conditions of a small school. We are close to nature and have a beautiful outdoor environment, which creates excellent conditions for our students. We work in teams where teachers, in collaboration with other staff, are responsible for high-quality teaching, which is evident in knowledge and survey results. We also have close and appropriate cooperation with other resources, such as student health services and other support functions.
Your Role
As principal, you work together with your staff to develop modern operations and ensure that students have the best possible conditions for learning. The principals of Bäckeskolan in Bäckefors and Ekhagsskolan in Dals Långed work as a school leadership team and have shared administration and student health services. School leadership is responsible for recruiting staff, organizing operations, and scheduling. You remain well-versed in daily operations to support the school in achieving good results, but also to challenge thinking and work methods in order to achieve operations that align with goals and politically adopted decisions. The role also includes follow-up, evaluation, and quality work. As principal, you are part of the operational area's management group, where we work collaboratively on strategic development. For the Ekhag/Bäckeskola school leadership team, in the coming years there is a special responsibility to maintain continuity in the work and implementation of the large number of school reforms that the education system is facing across the entire municipality.
What We're Looking For in You
You are an important part of the municipal organization and collaborate with both internal and external partners to lead operations forward. As principal, pedagogical insight and experience are required. Building relationships comes naturally to you, and you find it easy to cooperate with students, parents, staff, and colleagues. You have the ability to inspire staff members and, together with them, drive development work. It is important to address competency issues and organize operations in an efficient manner.
Otherwise, your personal suitability and collaboration skills are very important. Your basic perspective should be characterized by seeing possibilities and having a positive attitude toward challenges. If you have previously worked as a leader or manager in a politically governed organization, that is certainly a merit. Other merits that carry significant weight include having principal training or a background in the special education field, as well as experience with operational, financial, and personnel responsibility.
