The director position covers the Southern Gotland preschool area. The area includes: three preschools in Hemse; Högby, Mullvaden, and Tallen, as well as preschools in Öja, Havdhem, and Garda.
The following functions provide support in management work in addition to the director: an assistant director, a special educator, and a school administrator.
Your responsibilities
As a director at a preschool on Gotland, you provide close leadership to your staff. You are responsible for your area regarding: personnel, budget, work environment, operations development, systematic quality work, and pedagogical work. The focus is on the pedagogical development of preschool activities, and you will work to implement the goals in the curriculum and municipal decisions within the operation. You also handle economic matters for your area and manage rehabilitation cases that arise.
In this role, you will participate in leading the pedagogical development work taking place within Gotland Preschool. You collaborate with guardians, social services, and other directors within preschools and schools. You view collaboration in its various forms as an important part of leadership, where work environment issues are central.
Who are you?
You are educated as a preschool teacher or teacher, or have other academic pedagogical education that the employer considers equivalent. A driver's license is a requirement. You have professional experience within pedagogical activities and leadership experience.
It is advantageous if you are an authorized preschool teacher or teacher, and if you have director training and education in work environment and labor law. Experience working as a manager with personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility is also advantageous.
To succeed in the director role, it is important that you are a clear, stable, and communicative leader who builds trust and establishes long-term relationships with staff, children, guardians, and partners. You have a good overall perspective and the ability to see different aspects of the operation in context, while being able to translate goals and visions into practical work.
You lead with clarity and persistence, create structure and direction in the operation, and contribute to participation, engagement, and work satisfaction. In your leadership, you demonstrate good judgment and act stably even in challenging situations. You have the ability to distinguish between the personal and professional and maintain focus on the operation's mission and goals.
You are comfortable with change work and have the ability to communicate clearly even in complex situations. By listening, collaborating, and building trusting relationships, you create a culture characterized by openness, accountability, and shared development. As a representative of Gotland Preschool, you are a professional ambassador for the operation and create good partnerships both internally and externally.
