For the past five years, Gotland Resource School has operated as an independent school. Gotland Resource School comprises two operational areas. Speech and language education from preschool through year 9. Preschool-year 6 is located at Väskinde School and years 7-9 are at Solberga School. Gotland Resource School is located in Visby. The operations serve approximately 60 students. Your responsibilities As headmaster, you have results responsibility for goal achievement, operational development, budget, and finances within the school area. You are responsible for the school's overall budget and actively work to ensure balanced finances. In this role, you lead the school's development based on curriculum goals and municipal decisions regarding school operations. You coach and lead staff in pedagogical development work and create conditions for safe and high-quality education for students. You have responsibility for students and staff within the school area and view collaboration in its various forms as a central part of leadership, where workplace environment issues hold an important place. You lead and coordinate student health services at the school and collaborate closely with other headmasters within the elementary school. The role also includes representing the school in various collaborations and development forums. You report directly to the elementary school principal and work together with the assistant headmaster and staff to develop operations and strengthen student goal achievement. Who are you? We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and valid teacher certification as well as completed headmaster training. You hold a category B driver's license and have access to your own vehicle. The position requires good knowledge of school legislation and school policy documents. You have experience as a school leader with responsibility for pedagogical operations, staff, finances, and operational development, as well as experience working as a teacher, which has given you a good understanding of the school's mission and daily operations. It is an advantage if you have knowledge and experience working with students who face particular challenges in speech and language as well as students who have difficulty benefiting from instruction in a regular classroom setting. We are looking for a confident and engaged leader with good self-awareness who acts with good judgment and has the ability to read situations and contexts. You work independently, take responsibility for your assignment, and drive operations forward with focus on goals, quality, and results. At the same time, you have strong collaboration skills and build trusting relationships that contribute to engagement and participation in the organization. Through clear and present leadership, you provide staff with good conditions to succeed. You communicate in a clear and attentive manner and have good pedagogical understanding of people's different circumstances, which allows you to adapt your leadership according to individual and situation.
