Rainbow Preschool is beautifully situated by the Vassara River. It is an age-structured preschool with six departments spread across two floors, one of which is a minority language department. The facility has a shared dining hall and a large outdoor area that offers wonderful outdoor time with the children. We are seeking two substitute caretakers for Rainbow Preschool!
Job Responsibilities
Working as a substitute caretaker with us means you will work in the departments where there is a need on any given day. One substitute caretaker will be placed in our minority language department on Mondays and Fridays. We also have needs in other departments where staff study one day per week. Beyond these predetermined days, which department you work in varies based on the daily needs of the preschool. Being a substitute caretaker is a varied job that gives you the opportunity to experience the entire facility, from the youngest children to the oldest children at the preschool. You will participate in carrying out activities planned according to the Preschool Curriculum (Lpfö).
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma or other education that the employer deems equivalent. As a person, you should be easy to work with, have a professional approach, and be flexible. If you have experience working in a preschool, we view that as a positive! Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish according to the national minority language law. Knowledge of any of these languages is a merit in applications for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
A certificate from the Police's criminal record registry, which you obtain at Polisen.se, is required. The certificate must be presented before employment.

Work Time/Duration
100% temporary position, from 2026-08-17 or by agreement – until 2026-12-31. May be extended.
Salary
Monthly salary. Gällivare Municipality applies individual salary setting. Please include a salary expectation in your application!
