Do you want to contribute to creating Sweden's best health and care services and a sustainable society with growth throughout Västra Götaland? Västra Götalandsregionen is Sweden's largest public employer with the ambition to become Sweden's best public employer. With us, you'll have the opportunity to perform meaningful work for society and contribute to Västra Götalandsregionen's vision of "the good life". At the corporate office, we work daily to make a difference for patients, employees, visitors, and residents. All of VGR's operations must participate in the transition to a sustainable future based on VGR's sustainability goals. The Sustainability Department leads, develops, and coordinates a systematic and strategic group-wide implementation of VGR's sustainability goals. The Sustainability Department is part of the corporate staff for Regional Development and is located at the Corporate Office. We are now seeking a regional developer for circularity and climate who wants to drive societal development with a focus on implementing sustainability goals. The work takes place in broad collaboration with VGR's administrations and companies, as well as with relevant actors within other regions, academia, business, and civil society. Take the opportunity and apply to one of Sweden's largest employers! Your Assignment You will work in the Sustainability Department and together with your colleagues create the conditions for VGR's implementation of sustainability goals with a focus on circular product and material flows and climate-efficient operations. You will do this by coordinating, supporting, and developing work together with the region's administrations and companies. You will: - conduct strategic development work within circularity and climate - together with administrations and companies, take initiatives for measures needed to achieve our sustainability goals - coordinate development projects and work with climate calculations and environmental requirements in procurement - conduct analytical work, for example by making impact assessments of climate measures - prepare matters for the political level, as the Sustainability Department provides support to, among others, the regional council's sustainability committee. What Can We Offer You? Here you will be able to drive societal development at one of Sweden's largest employers, with insight into a wide range of activities – everything from opera to operations. Variety, development, and learning are fundamental parameters in the work. You will work in an organization with high ambitions in the sustainability field, and we want to – humbly – claim that we are well ahead in our work with sustainability/environment. Within the Sustainability Department, we are 15 employees who truly value being a good work environment for each other. We strive to maintain an open atmosphere, support, and help one another. We also prioritize taking a coffee break together and organizing social activities. Welcome to us! Västra Götalandsregionen offers flexible work arrangements based on operational conditions, and there is an opportunity to combine work from our offices and remotely. To Succeed in the Role You Need: To succeed and thrive in the role, you have extensive knowledge of environmental issues from a broad perspective, commitment, and the ability to lead and drive processes at a strategic level within the field. You are someone who thrives with the interplay of working both with others and independently. You have good collaboration skills and responsiveness, as the work involves contact with many different actors, but you can also "take a stand" when needed to move work forward. The work also requires you to take initiative, have analytical ability, and maintain structure in keeping activities and contacts coordinated. You enjoy leading meetings and giving presentations and have good communication skills both in writing and verbally. You have: - University degree in a field relevant to the position - Professional experience with strategic work on environmental matters within circularity and climate - Experience with climate calculations - Experience leading and coordinating processes within the sustainability field It is meritorious to have: - Experience working in a politically governed organization - Experience with climate/environmental requirements in procurement and purchasing It is important to us that you can work based on our values: - Together we make each other successful. - We listen in. We listen out. - Feedback contributes to our development. Other Information The position may be subject to security classification.
