We are now seeking an accounting economist for the Accounting and Government Compensation unit within Social Services Administration – Center. Our mission is to provide support and ensure high-quality accounting for the city's four social service administrations – Hisingen, Nordeast, Southwest, and Center. We are in a development phase where we actively work to create more efficient, digital, and proactive ways of working. About the Role As an accounting economist, you'll be part of an administration team together with a business controller and an administrator. Together, you're responsible for an administration's accounting and financial closing work, where you combine different competencies to create quality and coherence in your deliverables. You work independently within your area of responsibility but always in close collaboration with the team and other colleagues in the unit. The role involves ongoing contact with the administration's economists, where you serve as a close and professional support. Your work tasks include, among other things: responsibility for the financial closing process and quality in accounting. Ongoing accounting, reconciliations, and analyses. Customer invoicing and management of financial flows. Dialogue with operations and support to the administrations' economists and administrators. An important part of the assignment is to analyze, identify connections, and contribute to improvements. You work to develop work processes and working methods together with colleagues, where support from the business controller is a natural part of the work. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a professional college degree level qualification in accounting. We consider it a requirement that you have previous experience in accounting work. The role also requires very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. If you have previous experience working in the public sector, we consider that an advantage. As a person, you need to be thorough and well-organized. You care about your work being correct and thoroughly executed while not leaving anything to chance. You have the ability to focus on details. You check and follow up on your work to ensure it maintains high quality. You also need to be analytical and solution-focused, so that you can efficiently identify and analyze the core of a problem and suggest possible solutions. You have the ability to see connections and can draw logical conclusions based on limited and/or complex information. You have good communication and collaboration skills; you have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and reach goals. You have the ability to convey and teach your knowledge to others who have different prior knowledge than you in a pedagogical way, and you adapt your communication to your recipient, target group, and situation. You understand the common mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the whole. Finally, you also need to be independent so that you can act on your own based on what the situation requires without needing support from others. You have the ability to make independent decisions within the scope of your assignment.
