Accounting Economist at Newhouse

Newhouse is seeking an accounting economist who wants to take independent responsibility for the ongoing finances of a smaller company with short decision-making processes. We're looking for someone with approximately 2–3 years of accounting experience who feels confident in day-to-day bookkeeping. You've built a solid foundation and are ready to take on greater responsibility in a broad finance role. About the Role As an accounting economist at our company, you will be responsible for ongoing financial administration and accounting. You will be the natural point of contact for everyday finance questions and work closely with the CEO, our finance manager, and an external payroll consultant. The role is broad and suits you if you enjoy having an overview of the whole picture while also appreciating the ongoing practical work within finance. Your main responsibilities: · Ongoing bookkeeping and coding. · Management of incoming and outgoing payments. · Account reconciliations, including bank and balance accounts. · Reconciliation of sales and payment flows. · Booking of cash reports. · Accounts payable, including booking and payment proposals. · Responsibility for the company's approval flow and approval system. · Accounts receivable, invoicing, and follow-up of customer receivables. · Management of reminders and collection matters. · Contact with customers and suppliers on finance-related matters. · Preparation of documentation and account reconciliations for monthly closing. · Collaboration with the finance manager on monthly and annual closing. · Participation in budgeting and forecasting work. · Support with documentation for the external payroll consultant. · Assistance with VAT and tax-related matters when needed. · Preparation of financial summaries and documentation for the CEO and organization. · Support for the CEO with ongoing finance questions. Who Are You? We're looking for someone with approximately 2–3 years of experience in ongoing accounting who feels confident independently managing daily financial administration. You are thorough and organized and enjoy creating order and making things work. Since the role involves many points of contact, we also believe you are communicative and comfortable taking own initiatives when something needs to be followed up or resolved. We would like to see that you have: · Relevant education in finance or accounting. · Experience in ongoing bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payable, and account reconciliations. · Strong Excel skills and experience working in accounting systems. Experience from retail, e-commerce, or other operations with multiple sales channels is a plus. About Newhouse Newhouse is a Swedish fashion company founded in 1986.
