Accounting Specialist for Home Furnishings Company

We are currently seeking an Accounting Specialist for our client, a home furnishings company, for a consulting assignment initially lasting 2–3 months, with a good chance of extension. Here you'll have the opportunity to work closely with the CFO and develop your skills in accounting, financial statements, and economic processes at an exciting company. About the Role As an Accounting Specialist, you'll be an important part of the finance department and work broadly with ongoing accounting, financial administration, and business-related finance matters. Your Main Responsibilities Handle ongoing bookkeeping and financial administration Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable Work with PO matching Perform account reconciliations Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Handle VAT reconciliations, VAT reporting, and other recurring reports Manage payments and file uploads Handle Intrastat reporting About You We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in economics, accounting, or equivalent, and approximately 3 years of experience working in finance and accounting. You have strong Excel skills, good system proficiency, and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Experience from retail, import, or distribution operations is a plus. If you've also worked with AI tools and automation, such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or Power Automate, we see that as an added advantage. As a person, you are meticulous, well-organized, and unpretentious. You have strong self-motivation and a desire to develop within accounting.
