Accounting Manager

The Finance Department at Stockholm University is now seeking a driven and experienced accounting manager who wants to play a key role in our financial development. About the Accounting Section The Accounting Section is one of two sections within the Finance Department. In total, just over 40 employees work within the Finance Department, which is part of the university administration. The Finance Department works to ensure that financial management is efficient and lawful with a strong focus on supporting the university's academic and administrative goals. The Accounting Section is responsible for the authority's external financial reporting and provides specialist expertise regarding the university's financial planning, monitoring and accounting. The Accounting Section is also responsible for developing and improving financial processes and procedures to support the entire organization. The Finance Department has begun automating our processes. We will also soon be launching a procurement process for a new financial management system. Responsibilities You and your team act as support for the entire university and are responsible for ensuring that the university's accounting model meets requirements for both external reporting and internal monitoring. You have a holistic perspective and are driven to develop university-wide processes within the accounting field. Your main areas of responsibility include leading and participating in: work in the accounting section, including personnel responsibility for currently 16 employees work with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the entire university preparation of the financial parts of the annual report coordination of audits and contact with auditors development and optimization of accounting processes. An important part of your work is to collaborate on accounting issues both internally and externally and to follow developments in accounting regulations. You have solid expertise and experience in accounting. The work places great demands on your ability to navigate between working operatively and strategically. You report to the Finance Director and are part of the Finance Department's management team. Qualifications Requirements Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent education. Several years of current experience in qualified accounting work within a government agency. Experience in process development. Leadership experience. Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Meritorious Experience working at a Swedish higher education institution.
