At Service Management in Eskilstuna Municipality, you will become part of an organization with a clear direction forward. We work together to create value for the entire municipal group through smart, efficient, and high-quality accounting services. You will be part of the central accounting unit within Financial Statements and Analysis, which consists of approximately 30 committed colleagues. Here you work closely with your colleagues, the municipal management office, and other parts of the organization. Right now we are developing our working methods with a focus on digitalization, automation, and smarter processes.
The position is a permanent employment and begins with a six-month probationary period.

DUTIES
As an accounting manager, you have an operational role with overall responsibility for the municipality's accounting processes. You drive the work of developing, quality assuring, and streamlining the municipality's accounting and financial statement work. You also contribute to budget and forecast processes and actively work to develop the finance function's working methods.
The role includes some ongoing bookkeeping and accounting as well as monitoring changes in legislation and accounting regulations. You are responsible for ensuring that the municipality's guidelines and procedures in the accounting area are current. You lead the work with monthly, half-yearly, and annual financial statements for both the municipality and the municipal group, and are responsible for reporting to Statistics Sweden (SCB). Furthermore, you work with accruals, tax return work, projects, fixed assets, reconciliation work, and financial analyses, and produce key figures and reports in the municipality's decision support system. The role also includes reporting to government agencies and various projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have an academic degree in economics or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have at least three years of experience in qualified accounting work, for example as an accounting consultant, finance manager, accounting manager, or financial controller. Through these roles, you have developed a strong ability to analyze, follow up, and prepare decision-making documents for managers and executives. You have strong analytical skills and are used to identifying deviations, trends, and financial relationships. It is a merit if you have experience with group accounting.
We would like to see that you have experience with change and development work. You have participated in or driven initiatives to develop accounting processes, follow-up methods, or governance models. Experience in project management, digitalization, or other improvement assignments is a merit. If you have worked in a larger organization, for example in municipal or public activities, it is an advantage. You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and use Excel at an advanced level. It is a merit if you have worked with BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or similar.
To thrive in the role, you are structured, thorough, and analytical. You have great responsibility and the ability to plan and prioritize your work even during periods of high pace. You are a communicative and unpretentious person who enjoys collaborating and building good relationships, while having the ability to work independently. You also have an interest in developing working methods and creating efficient processes that contribute to the continued development of the organization.
