At Trafikverket Ferry Operations, we are undergoing a transformation process toward electrification, climate adaptation, automation, and digitalization that will impact our 70 ferries, 750 employees, and our 22 million passengers. Trafikverket Ferry Operations wants to be at the forefront and drive development toward more sustainable and smart solutions. According to our long-term plan, Vision 45, Trafikverket Ferry Operations is working to achieve carbon-neutral ferry operations by 2045. We are working on electrifying the ferries, and Vision 45 also opens up the opportunity to use smart digital solutions to reach our climate goals. To achieve these goals, we are now hiring shipping engineers for our technology and environment department. The position is based at Trafikverket's regional office in Stockholm/Solna. As a shipping engineer/project manager, you will be part of the technology and environment department, which currently consists of 16 employees, a maintenance manager, and a technology and environment manager. The department plays a central role within Trafikverket Ferry Operations and provides support while driving continued development. To adapt to environmental and climate requirements, a large portion of your work will involve electrifying and implementing digital solutions on new and existing vessels. In collaboration with operational management, districts, and shipyards, the department ensures that the business unit has efficient technical support. Some of your work duties will include: serve as project manager for major projects such as new construction/reconstruction of ferries initiate, conduct, document, and manage projects provide technical advice and information establish specifications for vessels and equipment participate in procurement of shipyard services and equipment provide support in technical solutions, procurement, and warranty issues monitor and participate in establishing framework/call-off agreements manage contacts with relevant authorities and suppliers oversee new construction and other commissioned work Qualifications You need to thrive in a role with significant responsibility where you are flexible, self-directed, and have a strong ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues, managers, and external individuals/groups. You are goal- and solution-oriented and driven by development and continuous improvement. You have high integrity and an ethical and moral approach. The position also requires strong communication skills. The project manager will be the link between operations, stakeholders, and suppliers, so a structured work approach is important. We are looking for you who: have experience working with budgets, forecasts, and financial follow-up have a degree in naval architecture or other education we deem equivalent have several years of experience in project management or similar work have experience in and worked in the maritime industry can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English have a driver's license for a car It is advantageous if you: have international experience have negotiation experience have experience with procurement have experience with ship electrical systems and electric propulsion have experience with digitalization Other Information Would you like to work partially remote?
