Who are we? Norrköping City Museum is located in industrial facilities by Motala Stream and has the mission to preserve and convey the local historical cultural heritage. Through a varied selection of exhibitions, guided tours, city walks, lectures, and other programs, we share knowledge about Norrköping's history and its significance for today's society. Norrköping City Museum also works to illuminate the present from a historical perspective. Our team of 15 people with different competencies work together to contribute to a broad range of activities by promoting knowledge, cultural experiences, and free opinion formation. Our work group is characterized by strong community engagement and good cohesion, where everyone contributes to creating a good work environment. In addition to our permanent staff, we also employ part-time receptionists and Norrköping city guides administered by Norrköping City Museum. With us, you will have the opportunity to make one of Norrköping's most interesting places accessible, in the heart of Norrköping's exciting industrial landscape! We work consciously to lower barriers for new visitors and create activities and programs for preschools and schools, families with children, and adults. Your responsibilities As a receptionist, you work together with your museum colleagues to make cultural heritage accessible to all residents of Norrköping and visiting tourists. You are the face of Norrköping City Museum and contribute to the brand through your work. The core of your work is to deliver excellent service and good hospitality to our visitors. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that everyone who visits the museum feels genuinely welcome, seen, and cared for. Hospitality also includes selling tickets, receiving room bookings, and handling certain group inquiries. In your work, you have contact with various internal and external partners; you are the contact person toward Discover Norrköping and contribute to developing Norrköping's tourism industry. You actively participate in developing the museum and its hospitality. Through dialogue with visitors, you gather feedback, questions, and suggestions about our activities. In daily work, you handle the cash register and shop displays in our museum shop. You contribute to making the museum shop an attractive part of the museum visit for both tourists and locals. You are an important part of the museum experience and work actively to ensure high service standards and satisfied visitors. You know the museum's exhibitions and programs and advise and guide different target groups through the museum's offerings in your role as receptionist. At reception, you also manage the museum's phone, email, and booking system. You handle parts of the city museum's digital communication where you plan, create, and publish content on our social media and to some extent update and maintain the organization's website. Daily work in the shop and reception, such as scheduling and purchasing, is led and planned by the museum's shop and reception manager, who is your supervisor in the reception team. Who are you? We are looking for someone with upper secondary education and good experience working in service, hospitality, and meeting people. You are someone who wants social work that always puts the visitor first and enjoys going the extra mile in personal interactions to deliver truly excellent service. You are engaged, have an interest in history, and are curious to learn more about local cultural heritage. We would also like you to have experience handling cash and working with sales and shop displays, where you have used your aesthetic sense. You have experience working with social media in professional contexts, with a strong ability to create, publish, and follow up on content in digital channels. You also have knowledge of written communication and marketing. As a person, we see that you are outgoing, confident, stable, structured, and flexible. You take initiative on things and complete what you start. You enjoy working in a group as well as independently and are happy to take the initiative to keep daily work running smoothly to improve and develop your work. The work is partly physically demanding and involves receiving and unpacking goods for the museum shop. You are able to work standing for large parts of the workday. You have strong knowledge of both Swedish and English, and if you speak additional languages, we see that as a plus. You also have good computer skills and can easily handle digital platforms and search for information. We look forward to your application!
