Do you want to work at the absolute forefront of technology where your expertise has a direct impact on safety, functionality, and quality? We are now looking for an experienced Publication Engineer who wants to take a comprehensive approach to structures, data, and systems for technical documentation – in an operation where demands are high and solutions are advanced. Here you will have a key role in a skilled team that works closely with both engineers and end users, and where your understanding of XML, systems, and structure makes a real difference.
About the Role
As a Publication Engineer, you will be part of a department of approximately 10 employees consisting primarily of technical writers and illustrators. The team works with advanced systems, including robotic systems and missile systems, and is responsible for technical documentation used by end users.
Unlike traditional writers, you work more "behind the scenes" – close to systems, data, and structures. You ensure that the right information reaches the right place, in the right format, and at the right time. The role involves comprehensive responsibility for how information is structured, coded, and reused across different publications.
You will become a central support function in several projects in parallel and serve as an expert in tools, XML, and automation.
Examples of work tasks:
• Work in XML-based environments and writing tools (e.g., UPTIME)
• Ensure structure, versioning, and traceability in technical information
• Develop and improve structures for content reuse
• Manage and optimize databases linked to technical documentation
• Map information flows and enable automated data import
• Script and automate, for example, code generation and structural changes
• Support technical writers with questions regarding tools, code, and structure
• Collaborate with ILS and systems engineers on information management
• Ensure that technical information complies with relevant standards
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, we see that you are a technically curious person with strong self-motivation. You like to work independently and take responsibility for your area, while also thriving in a role where you support others and collaborate broadly across the organization.
You are analytical and structured, with the ability to see the bigger picture in complex information flows. At the same time, you are communicative and sociable – you don't hesitate to reach out to colleagues to solve problems or drive work forward.
We also believe that you:
• Have a genuine interest in both technology and communication
• Are solution-oriented and like to improve work methods
• Thrive in a role with many parallel contact points and projects
Requirements for the Position:
• University degree in Computer Science/Systems Science/Communication/Equivalent
• Experience working with XML
• Interest in and some knowledge of programming or scripting
• Swedish and English, spoken and written
• Experience with technical documentation and understanding of writing processes
Before employment, you must pass a security interview and be approved according to applicable security clearance regulations.
Merits for the Position:
• Experience with tools such as UPTIME or similar XML-based publishing systems
• Knowledge of database management and information structuring
• Experience with scripting or automation
• Knowledge of relevant standards in technical information
• Experience with other writing or illustration tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CREO)
• Driver's license
Why This Role?
Here you have the opportunity to take on a specialist role where your technical expertise truly comes into its own. You will be part of a closely-knit team with strong camaraderie – many choose to work on-site to collaborate, have coffee breaks, and exercise together, but there is also flexibility to work from home.
You work in a high-tech environment where your contribution helps ensure safe and well-functioning systems – and where your expertise is genuinely in demand.
