We warmly welcome your application! Responsibilities We work with children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities from a life perspective. Your responsibilities include mapping the patient's situation to identify strengths and difficulties, and assessing the need for support and interventions. You will work both preventatively and with difficulties that have arisen cognitively, communicatively, socially, adaptively, and emotionally as a result of the disability. The goal of our interventions is to contribute to a functioning daily life with increased participation and good quality of life. You will conduct assessments and investigations and provide interventions directly to patients and/or through parents, relatives, and networks. Interventions are provided during individual and team visits, home visits, visits to schools/preschools, workplaces/day activities, and through education for networks and relatives, as well as through group activities. You will have the opportunity to work preventatively and long-term with patients facing challenges from various disabilities. Here you will apply your knowledge in learning psychology, cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, and developmental psychology while learning how rare diagnoses affect our patients' daily functioning. Regardless of our patients' diagnoses, our psychologists work to promote health, provide diagnostic information to patients and their networks, and help translate how cognitive functioning affects daily life. Within the team, you contribute your specific professional expertise by sharing knowledge, providing information, collaborating, and prioritizing with other team members. You bring psychological competence to discussions regarding both patient matters and attitudes and working methods within the team. About the Workplace Rehabilitation Center is a specialist service within Region Västmanland with the task of providing people with disabilities the conditions to live a good life. The goal of our work is to facilitate daily life and create conditions for participation in society. We offer support, advice, and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities in the areas of intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, mobility impairments, acquired brain injury, and visual impairment. We also provide support and consultation to relatives and close ones. The interventions we provide complement the support given by other societal institutions. Collaboration is therefore an important part of our work. At our Rehabilitation Center in Fagersta, you will work with patients in all diagnostic areas and thus gain broad knowledge and experience. The unit has 14 experienced staff members with high patient engagement. As a psychologist in rehabilitation, you work broadly and variably based on your expertise. Your work includes implementing measures at the individual level as well as conducting educational interventions and other forms of support at the group level. Your professional role also includes monitoring your field to develop your own and the team's working methods. The competency package includes: - Service-specific course - Participation in a national/Nordic congress - Observation placements in primary care, rehabilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, or forensic psychiatry (total of five days) - Opportunity to take supervisor training in year 2 - Personal follow-up by an experienced psychologist Qualifications We are looking for a licensed psychologist, preferably with experience working in rehabilitation. We consider it meritorious if you have experience with investigative work and experience in adult psychiatry. Experience with the Cosmic journal system is meritorious. Since your role requires you to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, relatives, and colleagues, good knowledge of Swedish is required. Other language skills are meritorious. As a person, you are attentive and have a good ability to understand others' situations. You have a respectful and good demeanor toward both patients and colleagues. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner. To thrive in this work, you need to be self-directed with good judgment and empathic ability.
