The Affective Disorders Clinic is an outpatient clinic with a mission to assess and treat patients with bipolar disorder, schizoaffective syndrome, and severe depression. We work in interdisciplinary teams, and the clinic includes specialist physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, care assistants, medical administrative staff, and a unit manager.

Job Responsibilities
As a psychologist at the Affective Disorders Clinic, you will have opportunities for varied work including psychological assessments, evaluations, and treatments, both individually and in groups. The evaluations we conduct are often comprehensive with complex differential diagnostic considerations. Since medication treatment forms the foundation of treatment for most of our patients, psychological treatment is seen as an important complement and can focus on both the patient's primary condition and comorbidities. Most patients at our clinic have long-term contact with us, and many have extensive care needs. This requires collaboration with other professionals but also provides opportunities to follow patients over extended periods.
As a psychologist, you are also expected to participate weekly in treatment conferences and psychologist meetings for in-depth case discussions and collegial supervision, as well as mentor psychology students on internships.
Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed psychologist with experience in psychiatry. You need to have a good ability to work both independently and in a team. Further training as a psychotherapist is a merit, as is previous experience working with comprehensive psychiatric evaluations.
We see that you have good empathetic ability, are humble, want to learn more, collaborate well, and are flexible. It is important that you have a holistic perspective both in relation to patients and other colleagues. About the Service
General psychiatry outpatient care is part of the general psychiatry operational area. Our general psychiatric clinics are located in Hallsberg, Karlskoga, Lindesberg, and Örebro. Specialized clinics for, for example, electroconvulsive therapy, affective disorders, neuropsychiatric evaluations, deaf psychiatry, and gender dysphoria are located in Örebro. We work with both individual and group treatment as well as both scheduled and acute visits and telephone counseling. Rehabilitation is part of our work, as are mobile services through our specialist psychiatric nursing teams (SPOT) and patient and family education programs. Together we work with shared processes and goals. We work in multiprofessional teams based on a holistic view of the individual and adapt care interventions to the patient's needs and circumstances. We work to promote the involvement of relatives in care.
