The Neuropsychiatric Team serves children and adolescents with autism and normal intelligence from age 7 until they complete secondary school. In the neuropsychiatric team, you will collaborate with 5 psychologists, 6 social workers, 2 speech-language pathologists, 6 occupational therapists, 5 special education teachers, physicians, 2 team secretaries, and a unit manager.
Responsibilities
The work involves team-based interventions for children and adolescents with autism and normal intelligence, as well as their families. With us, you will have an interesting and developmental role with varied responsibilities. The neuropsychiatric team has focused on developing individual interventions and group treatments using evidence-based methods, such as anxiety management and social skills training in groups. For individual interventions, the focus is on treating anxiety problems in particular, combined with understanding difficulties and strengths based on autism. Additional examples of responsibilities include team planning, consultation, assessments, and collaboration with other healthcare providers around the individual child and family.
Within Child and Youth Rehabilitation in Örebro County, there are 13 psychology positions, with the majority based in Örebro and some at regional clinics in Nora, Karlskoga, and Hallsberg. We also have a postdoctoral psychology fellow within the organization and accept psychology candidates.
As a new employee, you will have a mentor and continuous external professional supervision during your initial period. The Neuropsychiatric Team is a county-wide operation. Qualifications
Licensed psychologist. Experience with and interest in working with children and adolescents with autism is a merit. Travel is part of the position, therefore a valid driver's license is required.
