Jelgavas valstspilsētas pašvaldības iestāde "Jelgavas valstspilsētas bāriņtiesa" announces a competition for a psychologist position at Jelgavas valstspilsētas pašvaldības iestāde "Jelgavas valstspilsētas bāriņtiesa" (indefinite term): Job Duties Description: 1. provide psychological consultations to the court's clients or groups of clients; 2. within the scope of the position's competencies, represent client interests in municipal, state, and other institutions; 3. participate in court sessions; 4. prepare psychological assessment or evaluation reports; 5. address clients' psychological issues using various methods, such as psychodiagnostics, individual consultations, observation; 6. collaborate with social services, educational institutions, court members, and other institutions. Requirements for Candidates: 1. higher education diploma confirming completion of at least 200 credit points in an accredited bachelor's and accredited master's degree program in psychology, with at least one of these programs being a professional studies program (master's degree in psychology with specialization in clinical or educational psychology); 2. registration in the psychologists' register and a psychologist's certificate in the specified field of practice; 3. at least 2 years of practical experience working with children, families, and crisis situations; 4. impeccable reputation; the candidate must not be subject to restrictions specified in Article 6 of the Psychologists Law; 5. state language proficiency at the highest level (minimum C1); 6. experience in court work will be considered an advantage; 7. necessary knowledge and understanding of legal matters (guardianship, contact, etc.) and the ability to prepare psychological reports for litigation or court proceedings; 8. high stress tolerance and sense of responsibility; 9. excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence; 10. strong computer skills in working with MS Office, Word, Excel, NAMEJS, and other information technology programs. Application Documents: the application not exceeding one A4 page; a description of life, work, and professional experience (CV), indicating work periods, education level, job duties, language skills, as well as skills in working with digital tools and information and communication technologies; copies of documents confirming education in one copy (for candidates who received education abroad, a document on the academic recognition of education in Latvia must be attached); a document issued by the psychologists' certification board confirming that the psychologist is authorized to independently perform professional psychological activities in the specified field; a certification that the candidate is not subject to the prohibitions mentioned in Article 6 of the Psychologists Law (Appendix 1); a certification of consent to the processing of personal data (references) (Appendix 2); a certificate from the IeM Information Centre Criminal Records Register regarding the person's convictions and administrative violations; state language proficiency certificate for candidates for whom Latvian is not a native language.
