Vacancy: Senior Inspector (Psychologist), 5413 02 Position Type: Full-time Salary: from 1860 EUR Work Location: Jēkabpils Prison of the Penitentiary Service – Ķieģelu iela 14, Jēkabpils, LV-5202 Contact Information: 65230327; 67290148, [email protected] Send CV and motivation letter to: [email protected]; [email protected] Requirements for Candidates: Compliance with requirements set out in the Law on the Service of Officials with Special Service Ranks in Institutions of the Ministry of Interior and the Penitentiary Service: - Must be a Latvian citizen; - Age between 18 and 50 years; - Professional higher education required for performing duties – Master's degree in Psychology; - Compliance with requirements set out in the Psychology Law and practical experience; - Certificate that the psychologist is registered in the Psychology Register; - Supervision agreement concluded with a certified supervising psychologist (in the field of legal psychology or clinical psychology) or psychologist certification; - Knowledge of Latvian language at least at level C 2.2; - Physical fitness meets requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 288 of 28.05.2013 "Physical Fitness Requirements for Officials with Special Service Ranks in Institutions of the Ministry of Interior and the Penitentiary Service"); - Health status and psychological characteristics meet requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 970 of 21.11.2006 "Regulations on Health Status and Psychological Characteristics Required for Officials with Special Service Ranks in Institutions of the Ministry of Interior and the Penitentiary Service and Candidates for Official Positions and the Procedure for Health Status and Psychological Characteristics Assessment"); - Not convicted of intentional criminal offense – regardless of criminal record expungement or removal; - Not sentenced for intentional criminal offense with suspended sentence; - Not prosecuted for committing an intentional criminal offense, except in cases where the official was prosecuted but the criminal proceedings were terminated on rehabilitation grounds; - Not declared legally incapable in accordance with the law; - Not dismissed from service in the Ministry of Interior system or Penitentiary Service because a disciplinary penalty of dismissal was applied; - Excellent computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint); - Ability to plan and organize work, perform assigned tasks in priority order; - Good communication skills, high psychological resilience; - Ability to work both in a team and individually; - High sense of responsibility, analytical thinking, ability to work in high-intensity conditions. Duties: - Provide individual psychological consultations to inmates; - Provide psychological assistance to inmates in groups; - Within area of expertise, participate in assessing risks and needs of inmates; - Cooperate with other department officials and employees – participate in developing inmate resocialization (criminal punishment execution measures) plans, evaluating plan implementation, and making plan corrections in psychological care; - Conduct psychological examinations of inmates, including assessment of suicidal behavior risk; - Provide first psychological assistance in cases of suicide attempts and crises; - Assess psychological status of inmates, provide necessary recommendations upon request by Penitentiary administration; - Prepare psychologist's reports; - Create and maintain psychological documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
