Design Engineer
E.ON Sverige Aktiebolag · Full-time
Nässjö, Sweden
E.ON in Sweden is part of the international energy corporation E.ON SE with headquarters in Essen, Germany. Within the group, approximately 70,000 people work in 17 countries. Around 2,100 dedicated employees work throughout Sweden. Our Nordic headquarters is located in Malmö. In Sweden, we deliver electricity, heating, and smart energy solutions to over one million households and businesses. E.ON's role is to take responsibility for and drive development forward, so that more can transition to renewable energy. Through our investments and our customers' willingness to contribute, we work to continue electrifying society and meet future energy needs. In Customer Services Nässjö, we work with customer connections and other customer-driven projects in our local grid. In the team, we are twelve colleagues in grid technology, design, and project management who together ensure that our customers receive safe and sustainable solutions while we develop the grid of the future. At our office in Nässjö, we have around 30 employees working in several related business areas, which gives us excellent opportunities to collaborate, share knowledge, and help one another. Your Role As a Design Engineer with us, you have an important role early in our projects. You are responsible for the design work and create the technical documentation that forms the basis for our contractors and project managers to execute projects in a safe, sustainable, and cost-effective manner. You work with the entire preparation phase and, among other things: Develop and evaluate technical solutions for the local grid Conduct site visits to investigate the conditions on location Size cables and other parts of the electrical network Prepare work environment plans and technical documentation Prepare estimates, monitor costs, and calculate project budgets Review solutions and provide technical expertise even when the project moves forward to execution. Once the design work is complete, the project is handed over to a project manager, but you continue to be an important collaborator and technical support during the project. The role therefore gives you the opportunity to combine technical work with problem-solving, collaboration, and time out in the field. Your Experience To have the right foundation for the role, we see that you have good knowledge of electrical systems and education in, for example, electrical engineering, electrical power, or a related field. You need to have an understanding of electrical systems and how electrical grids are structured in order to assess and develop well-thought-out technical solutions. It is advantageous if you have experience in design, project preparation, electrical power work, or work in construction and installation. We look positively on different types of backgrounds and are primarily curious about the knowledge and understanding you bring into the role. As a person, you enjoy diving into technical questions and are curious about continuing to develop your knowledge. You appreciate collaborating, sharing your perspectives, and learning from others. Because you have many contact points, both within E.ON and with external partners, we also believe that you thrive in building good relationships and communicating in a clear and trustworthy manner. The role is primarily office-based, but part of the work takes place in the field where you meet customers and follow our projects closely. A driver's license is therefore a requirement for the position. What is it Like Working Here? We welcome you to a group where we help one another, share knowledge, and together take responsibility for finding good solutions. Here there is room to bring new perspectives and ideas, while you have the opportunity to learn from colleagues with different experiences and expertise. Your manager, Johan, values close collaboration and a culture where it is easy to ask questions, request support, and contribute your thoughts. For us, it is important that you have the opportunity to develop in your role and feel like part of the group. At E.ON, we actively work with inclusion—it is crucial for driving the energy transition forward. We want you to feel welcome! We strive to create a safe work environment with meaningful work tasks and good opportunities for development. We continually challenge ourselves to create a welcoming workplace where we hope you will thrive. We work for a more sustainable energy society, but it is equally important that our employees have the conditions to maintain their personal well-being. We therefore offer good benefits so that you feel well and have good balance between work and leisure. Some of these include reduced working hours that are higher than the industry standard, health insurance, free healthcare, and more! We warmly welcome your application and invite you to join us on the journey toward a more sustainable society! The application deadline is September 11.
