Shipping in Sweden is undergoing major changes. At Trafikverket Färjerederiet (Swedish Transport Administration Ferry Service), we are implementing a transformation process toward electrification, climate adaptation, automation, and digitalization that will affect our 70 ferries, 750 employees, and our 22 million passengers. Trafikverket Färjerederiet wants to be at the forefront and drive development toward more sustainable and smart solutions.
According to our long-term plan, Vision 45, Trafikverket Färjerederiet is working to achieve carbon-neutral ferry operations by 2045. We are working on electrifying the ferries, and Vision 45 also opens up the possibility of using smart digital solutions to reach our climate goals. To achieve these goals, we are now hiring a maritime engineer for a temporary position in our Technology and Environment Department. The position is located at Trafikverket's regional office in Stockholm/Solna.
As a maritime engineer/project manager, you will be part of the Technology and Environment Department, which currently consists of 16 employees, one maintenance manager, and one technology and environment manager. The department plays a central role within Trafikverket Färjerederiet and provides support while driving continued development. In cooperation with operational management, districts, and shipyards, the department ensures that the operational unit has efficient technical support.
Some of your main responsibilities will be:
- Serve as contact person and technical support for approximately 20 ferry routes, several on the west coast
- Lead smaller projects and establish specifications for maintenance work on our facilities
- Participate in procurements and call-outs for Trafikverket's framework agreements for maintenance work on ferry terminals and guard buildings
- Contribute to technical solutions and warranty issues
- Maintain and follow up on work in the database used for Trafikverket's facilities
- Order and follow up on investigations concerning our facilities
- Order and follow up on inspections of guard buildings and ferry terminals
- Participate in establishing maintenance programs for guard buildings and ferry terminals
- Manage contacts with relevant authorities and suppliers
Qualifications
You need to thrive in a role with significant responsibility where you are flexible, self-driven, and have a strong ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues, managers, and external individuals/groups. You are goal- and solution-oriented and driven by development and continuous improvement. You have high integrity and an ethical and moral approach. The position also places great demands on your communication skills.
We are looking for someone who
- Has a higher technical education (engineer's degree) or other education that we deem equivalent
- Has several years of experience in project management within construction and infrastructure
- Has several years of professional experience in the construction and infrastructure industry
- Can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Has a driver's license for cars
It is advantageous if you
- Have experience working with harbor and dock facilities
