The Real Estate and Facilities Management Department is facing many exciting challenges and is looking for someone who wants to contribute to making Piteå Sweden's best place to live. The department has 350 employees and is responsible for the management and operation of the municipality's properties as well as the municipality's combined food service and cleaning operations. The Real Estate Division ensures strategic space planning, coordination, and changes in the property portfolio. A total of 320,000 m² is managed across 144 properties, with the majority used by the municipality's core operations. The division is also responsible for daily operations, maintenance, and planning and execution of maintenance and investments in the municipality's properties. The division handles leasing and contract management for premises, residences, and parking spaces. The division has 85 employees. The Projects & Technology Unit consists of a unit manager, five project managers, and four technical specialists. The group has broad expertise and extensive experience in driving projects and handling technical issues. Employees are accustomed to working closely with each other and collaborating efficiently both internally and with other units, which contributes to holistic solutions and smooth implementation in various assignments. Main Responsibilities As a project manager with us, you will have a central role in the implementation of the municipality's construction projects and will be responsible for the entire process from early stages to completion and handover to operations. The role involves leading and driving projects within renovation, expansion, and new construction, as well as maintenance and investment projects. You are responsible for planning, budgeting, and monitoring the project's finances, schedule, and quality, as well as procuring and managing consultants and contractors in accordance with applicable regulations. You also coordinate the project's various stakeholders and ensure progress, work with estimates, risk assessments, and forecasts, and ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with laws, requirements, and internal processes. You also contribute to the development of working methods and procedures within project management. The role involves many points of contact, both internally within the municipality and externally with contractors, consultants, and operations. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a relevant technical education in surveying, construction, electrical, plumbing, or equivalent experience deemed equivalent. You should have at least one year of experience in project management within the construction and real estate industry and are experienced in managing contracts in a professional manner. You should have good knowledge of contract law, experience with calculations, budget responsibility, and financial monitoring, as well as experience with procurement, preferably according to public procurement regulations. You have good IT skills and hold a valid driver's license (category B). To succeed in the role, you are well-organized, self-motivated, and have strong planning abilities. You are communicative and have a talent for building relationships of trust, while maintaining a professional approach and good financial awareness. You work in a solution-oriented manner, are flexible, and have the ability to drive projects forward as well as engage and motivate others. More About the Position This is a permanent employment.
