That's why we're now looking for an experienced project manager in infrastructure development who wants to help shape Avesta's future. As a project manager, you'll become part of Growth Avesta, where business development, land and development issues, and traffic, park, and road infrastructure collaborate to create attractive and sustainable environments for both residents and businesses. We have several strategically important initiatives ahead. Among other things, a new through-route will be built, a new road bridge constructed, a new business area developed, and the approved city plan implemented in practice. As a project manager, you'll have overall responsibility for strategically important infrastructure investment projects and will lead projects from early stages to completion. RESPONSIBILITIES As a project manager you ensure efficient projects with high quality. You'll have overall responsibility for exciting and complex infrastructure investment projects within infrastructure, streets, roads, and development. The role is primarily a client and project management role where you coordinate, lead, and follow up work between municipal operations, external consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders. You're responsible for directing projects in terms of schedule, budget, and quality, and for ensuring project objectives are achieved. • lead and coordinate projects from feasibility study to handover • establish and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and schedules • procure and manage consultants and contractors • ensure quality, work environment, and regulatory compliance in projects • prepare decision-making materials and report to steering groups and political forums • collaborate with developers, authorities, business community, residents, and municipal operations • manage project risks, changes, and follow-up throughout implementation. QUALIFICATIONS We're looking for someone who has • higher education in infrastructure development, construction engineering, or other relevant field • several years of experience in project management within construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors • documented experience leading projects from feasibility study through implementation and handover • experience from politically governed organizations • strong knowledge of construction law and standard contracts in construction and engineering • uses digital systems and tools and sees digital development as a natural part of working toward goals • good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • B-class driver's license. Meritorious • BAS-P/BAS-U • experience with public procurement under LOU • experience with development projects To succeed in this role, you're a driven and structured project manager who thrives taking responsibility and making decisions. You have strong ability to prioritize, create momentum, and maintain a holistic perspective even in complex projects. You're also a skilled relationship builder who collaborates well with different expertise and stakeholders.
