Project Manager with Team Leadership Responsibility in Circular Economy

About Us Our Environment and Sustainable Chemistry unit is now seeking a new team member in the circular economy field. We are a team of 23 people with a mix of researchers and project managers who are experts in life cycle assessment, circular economy, and chemical issues. In our operations, located in Mölndal and Stockholm, we work on questions within circular economy, resource efficiency, life cycle assessment, and sustainability assessment. The unit is also home to the Substitution Center and the Chemical Group at RISE. The position is based in Mölndal or Stockholm, and we currently operate on a hybrid work model where you can divide your time between the office and working from home. About the Role As a project manager with team leadership responsibility in circular economy, you will play a central role in driving and developing our circular transformation activities. You lead and coordinate a team consisting of 7 researchers and project managers with expertise in circular business models, resource efficiency, remanufacturing, textile recycling, and plastic recycling. The role combines operational project management with a unifying responsibility for the team's development, project portfolio, and strategic direction. You will initiate, lead, and follow up on projects and assignments in close collaboration with customers, partners, and colleagues within RISE. As a team leader, you create structure, promote collaboration, and ensure that the team has good overview of ongoing and upcoming projects, deliverables, calls, and applications. You also contribute to developing working methods, strengthening the business, and driving the team's strategic work together with the unit manager. The team leader role, planned to comprise 10-15 percent of your working time, includes holding pulse meetings with the team, monitoring relevant calls and maintaining overview of applications in the field, having overview of the team's projects, assignments and deliverables, conducting structured environmental scanning, and leading the team's strategic work in collaboration with the unit manager. The team leader has no personnel responsibility. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to environmental and sustainability issues. As a person, you are customer-focused and communicative, and can express yourself well in both speech and writing in both Swedish and English. Requirements: • Academic degree in an area relevant to the position • Existing network within the textile industry • Experience writing research applications to national and European funders • Experience in business management Meritorious Competencies: • Research training as well as chemistry expertise or alternatively materials expertise • Experience with Horizon projects • Knowledge of legislation within the areas of the position Are We Right for Each Other?
