We are looking for an experienced project manager for socially important projects The Urban Development Department has a central mission to develop an attractive, functional, and sustainable Piteå for residents, visitors, and business. As a project manager in the Street Division, you get a key role in leading and driving investments in the renovation and new construction of streets and pedestrian and cycle paths. The Street Division is one of the department's five divisions and works closely with the municipality's strategic development. The position is located at the Traffic and Projects unit, where you join an experienced team consisting of a project engineer, street engineer, project manager, and colleagues working on traffic issues. Here you take responsibility for driving projects from early stages to completion, with requirements for structure, coordination, and good financial management. The work involves extensive collaboration with the department's other divisions on complex issues related to land, planning, traffic, and urban development. Job Responsibilities As an experienced project manager with us, you are responsible for leading and implementing complex infrastructure projects through the entire project cycle – from early initiation, investigation, and design to finished installation in operation. The focus is on the implementation phase, where you drive investment projects with requirements for quality, economy, and time. The projects include, among other things, development of new city districts, renovation and new construction of streets, pedestrian and cycle paths, water and sewage lines, and urban environments such as squares and public spaces. The role is both strategic and operational, and you have a clear presence out in the projects where decisions need to be made close to production. The assignment includes overall coordination responsibility and frequent contact with internal and external stakeholders. You lead and are responsible for consultants in multiple projects and ensure that the project's goals are achieved through professional management and clear communication. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a technical university education or other relevant education and experience that we deem equivalent. It is highly meritorious if you have several years of experience in project management within the construction industry. You have a genuine commitment to the urban development process and understand the importance of seeing the whole picture. As a project manager, you are confident in your role, analytical, and action-oriented, with the ability to make well-founded decisions even when circumstances change. You are organized, accustomed to high demands, and work purposefully to deliver within set parameters such as quality, time, and economy. The position requires good communication skills in both speech and writing, as you have daily dialogue with citizens, contractors, consultants, and colleagues within the organization. You thrive with taking personal responsibility, while also valuing collaboration and contributing to a professional team. A B driver's license is required.
