How do you make maintenance projects work in one of Sweden's most complex railway environments? In the role of project engineer, you work closely with project managers, contractors, and technical specialists. You follow up, coordinate, and drive work forward in projects where both technology and collaboration are crucial to success. Work Tasks As a project engineer, you work together with project managers and other colleagues within the maintenance organization to ensure that our contracts are executed with high quality and in accordance with established goals. You work with both administrative and technical matters and contribute to creating conditions for a safe and efficient railway facility. In the role, you will, among other things: - follow up on finances, forecasts, and contracts - plan and coordinate activities within maintenance projects - review technical documentation and records - participate in monitoring contractors' deliveries - handle technical issues together with internal and external stakeholders - coordinate contacts with municipalities, authorities, and railway companies - drive your own projects with responsibility for budget, control, and delivery - if needed, substitute for the project manager and ensure continued project progress Qualifications We are looking for someone who thrives in a role where you combine structure, coordination, and technical understanding. You have the ability to create order in complex situations and can switch between strategic matters and operational work. You work systematically and have an easy time seeing connections between technology, economics, and operations. Since the role involves many contact points, you need to be able to collaborate with different professional groups and communicate clearly, both internally and externally. You take responsibility for your tasks, drive work forward, and actively contribute to achieving common goals. We are looking for someone who has: - a university degree of at least 180 credits (120 points) within a relevant field such as engineering, construction and infrastructure, electrical, urban planning, or railway engineering - documented experience working on railway maintenance contracts, including coordination, collaboration with external stakeholders, contractor management, and budget monitoring - experience working with multi-track facilities in a major city environment - experience independently managing sub-contracts with result responsibility - experience substituting for project managers during absences - training or experience with contract management within AB, ABT, AMA, and/or other governing documents within the railway sector - training in and experience with the GUS system - training in or experience as a Health and Safety Officer - a valid driver's license category B It is meritorious if you have: - experience working in teams with a focus on project and/or target management - current work experience from a role as a client or contractor within maintenance projects on railways Other Information The employment is security vetted without placement in a security classification.
