Project Engineer Automation – Be part of developing the automation solutions of the future Are you passionate about automation, control systems, and technical solutions? Do you enjoy working closely with both customers and colleagues and want to follow a project all the way from concept to commissioning? Then you could be the electrical automation project engineer we're looking for. At Zeppelin Power Systems, you'll become part of our Engineering team and take on a central role in developing and delivering automation solutions for our applications. You'll work in an international environment alongside sales, procurement, workshop, logistics, and our customers to ensure every project is executed with high quality and on schedule. About the role As a project engineer for automation, you are responsible for the technical coordination of our major projects – from sales support and engineering to commissioning and project closure. You ensure that the technical solution meets the customer's requirements, that the correct materials are ordered, and that the project is delivered according to contract, budget, and schedule. The role involves many contact points and suits you if you thrive on combining technology, project management, and problem-solving. You will also be in contact with customers, suppliers, inspection/certification bodies, and Caterpillar regarding technical questions and solutions. Your responsibilities With us, you will, among other things: Support the sales department with technical solutions and documentation ahead of sales. Participate in customer meetings and contribute technical expertise in automation and control systems. Develop and review technical documentation, drawings, and engineering materials. Ensure that order confirmations, technical specifications, and delivery times are correct. Plan and coordinate projects together with sales, procurement, workshop, and logistics. Provide technical support to production and follow projects through their entire implementation. Coordinate handover in preparation for commissioning and support during startup and testing. Plan material requirements and initiate procurement together with the procurement department. Follow up on project finances, manage deviations, and ensure good project profitability. Serve as technical contact person with customers, suppliers, and classification societies. Ensure that all technical documentation and delivery materials are complete before delivery. Participate in project closure and contribute to continuous improvements of our work methods. You have a strong interest in automation and control technology and are motivated by finding smart technical solutions together with customers and colleagues. We believe you have: Higher education in automation, electrical power, electrical engineering, or equivalent technical education. Experience with technical projects in automation, control systems, or marine applications. Good understanding of PLC, HMI, and automation systems. Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools. Good computer skills and experience with technical documentation. Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written. Swedish is a merit. It is particularly advantageous if you have experience with control systems from, for example, DEIF, ComAp, or Deep Sea, or have worked with Caterpillar's automation and control systems.
