Job Responsibilities
Do you want to be part of developing the future of social work and create real change in people's lives? We are strengthening our team as we expand our operations and are now seeking a dedicated work specialist for the ESF-funded ReCharge project. We work using the IPS (Individual Placement and Support) method to support individuals with harmful use/addiction and comorbidity in finding and maintaining employment.
The project is run in collaboration between the Social Administration Northeast and Southwest in Gothenburg and is located within the Adult Resource Unit, under the Adult Northeast Department. ReCharge aims to develop and make accessible individualized employment support (IPS) for people outside the labor market living with a complex life situation characterized by addiction issues and other mental health problems. We primarily serve individuals who are current clients of the Adult Units and within the Housing and Homelessness Department, but we also collaborate with other activities where the target group may be found. No financial assistance decision is required and the work is entirely based on the individual's own wishes and motivations.
As a work specialist within IPS, you work from a recovery-oriented approach where employment is seen as part of recovery, rather than a goal requiring prerequisites such as sobriety or stability. The position involves active, outreach, and practical work together with the individual, where you provide support throughout the process, from formulating goals to finding and maintaining employment. A large part of the assignment involves establishing contacts with employers and the work also includes close collaboration with social services, healthcare, and education and labor market activities. You therefore need to be relationship-building, unpretentious, and solution-focused.
The project is led jointly by a unit manager and a project manager. The unit manager has overall responsibility and the project manager is responsible for operational management, method development, and coordination. You will also receive method and case guidance from an IPS method supervisor and development leader. The project is part of a larger change initiative within social services in connection with the new social services act, which makes your contribution particularly meaningful.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the work specialist position, we are looking for someone with a higher education in behavioral science with a focus on care, nursing, social work, or pedagogy, or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant. Since we run an ESF project, you need to have a good ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks and working methods. It is a requirement that you have experience working with labor market issues. It is meritorious if you have IPS training and experience working with IPS.
We are looking for someone who believes in people's ability to succeed and sees the potential in every individual. Furthermore, you are;
• Collaborative, flexible, and solution-focused
• Accustomed to contributing ideas and implementing them in practice
• Committed to making a difference for the individual, where employment is seen as a possible and important part of the path toward independence. A class B driver's license is a requirement
In this recruitment, we would like to meet you for an initial digital speed interview on 8/13 and 8/14. If you advance to a second in-person interview, it will take place on 8/17, 8/18, or 8/21. We warmly welcome your application!
Recruitment is conducted provided that the necessary decisions are made.
