Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to society's development is even greater. With us, you get to do both. We are now seeking a project manager for our construction operations in and around Kalmar and surrounding areas. At Svevia, we combine the community and teamwork of a small company with the stability of a large enterprise. Here you have the opportunity to develop and help others grow as a road specialist—with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.
Your role as project manager
As a project manager in our Construction division, you will be responsible for:
• Planning, leading, and executing projects based on Svevia's goals and values
• Budget and finances in projects and ensuring forecast procedures are followed
• Contract matters with customers
• Being involved in the bidding process and assessing and managing risks and opportunities
• Actively contributing to the work manager area's management group
The role also includes personnel responsibility for an organizational unit within the work manager area. As a manager and leader at Svevia, you have a responsibility to lead, drive, and develop both operations and employees in line with the company's strategy, goals, and values.
In this role, you will report to the work manager.
Who are you?
You enjoy business and keeping up with market developments, and you have developed strong leadership skills through your experience in leadership roles. For us, that means you always place work environment, business, and profitability at the center while bringing everyone on the team along on the journey.
Leadership is important to us. We believe in developmental leadership where you as a leader bring out the best in your team and contribute to building a strong and thriving project team.
We consider it a given that you communicate well in writing and speech in Swedish, have computer skills, and possess a B driver's license.
Beyond your personal qualities, you will have good prerequisites for success in a project manager role with us if you have experience in:
• Active and structured work with work environment issues and safe behaviors
• Road and construction projects in a leadership position with personnel and/or budget responsibility
• Estimation and bidding work in construction projects
• Nurturing and developing customer relationships
• Building teams and recruitment work
As a foundation, we believe you have a technical university education in civil engineering or equivalent.
Part of something larger
Within construction operations, we build Sweden from the ground up—in concrete, steel, wood, stone, and earth. We do this by constructing roads, bridges, quays, and concrete structures for industry, state, and municipalities. We also break new ground and pave the way for water and sewage networks, wind farms, and development areas. We also have specialized units in foundation work and soil remediation. Together with Svevia's other operations in road maintenance and pavement, you become an important part of a larger societal machinery. This opens up new opportunities for innovation and problem-solving.
Why Svevia?
Based on Svevia's strategies, goals, and values, you will have the conditions needed to make a difference and contribute to the company's development. Decision-making processes are short, it's easy to influence and make your voice heard. And with us, leadership is in focus, which means you continuously get the opportunity to develop in your role.
We are committed to being a workplace for everyone. We see it as a given that you lead through your employees. It is as a team that we create success. That's how we do business and generate results. That's how we make cities and countries function. Do you want to share the road with us?

You apply easily by submitting your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting with quality assurance, inclusivity, and without bias. Therefore, we do not want a personal letter.
