About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more staff members. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, community corrections, remand facilities, and inmate transportation. Community Corrections Northern Norrland covers Västernorrland, Västerbotten, and Norrbotten counties and has staffed offices in Luleå, Gällivare, Umeå, and Sundsvall. Community Corrections conducts personal investigations and monitors clients who are conditionally released, under supervision, sentenced to community service, or monitored with the help of electronic monitoring/intensive supervision. Community Corrections also operates various treatment programs, in Umeå and Sundsvall also on-site at nearby facilities. Within Community Corrections Northern Norrland, approximately 180 employees and 13 managers work to reduce client recidivism and thereby increase safety in society. Travel for work purposes occurs as we also conduct operations at our offices in Gällivare and Kiruna. Job Description As a Program Leader, you will be part of a team that works with clients in community corrections. As an important part of preventing recidivism, Community Corrections Luleå operates comprehensive program activities for clients under supervision. Treatment programs are conducted with high quality and according to evidence-based practice principles. They are primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy and social learning theory. We use programs addressing criminality, violence, substance abuse, and sexual and relationship violence. The assignment is carried out by a highly dedicated program team with specialized program leadership expertise. The varied program offerings mean that you will simultaneously lead several different programs. As a Program Leader, in addition to leading programs, you will also handle administrative tasks. As a Program Leader, you are expected to complete the program leader training courses that are part of the assignment. Qualifications We are looking for someone who remains calm and composed in demanding situations. Since you will work in a team, good collaboration skills are required. In your work, you are thorough and make correct assessments and prioritizations. You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's circumstances. You must also have physical capabilities that enable you to act physically if the situation requires it. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect you and others. Furthermore, through your approach, you are expected to contribute to everyone being treated equally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who has: An academic degree (at least bachelor's level), preferably in behavioral sciences, social work, criminology, or social sciences, or alternatively another academic education (180 credits) combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant. Driver's license category B (travel for work purposes occurs). Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form. We consider it meritorious if you have: The Swedish Prison and Probation Service's Program Leader Training. Other training with a treatment focus that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant. Client-facing work experience in healthcare and/or social work. Good experience working with proven treatment methods, with a focus on CBT. Relevant language skills.
