Job Description
Would you like to lead and develop a growing production operation where technology, quality, and people are at the center? Kalmar Motor is now seeking an engaged and driven Production Manager who wants to contribute to our continued growth journey. We welcome your application!
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating production to achieve our goals in quality, delivery, and efficiency. You will have personnel responsibility for a team of approximately 30 employees and work closely with three team leaders, whom you will support and develop in their leadership. At the same time, you are an important part of our production management team and will collaborate closely with our other production manager—together you will create structure, drive improvements, and build an efficient and well-functioning production operation.
The role is characterized by close collaboration with both team leaders and employees, where you are present in the operation and contribute to creating engagement, involvement, and a strong team spirit. You are responsible for ensuring that production follows the plan with high quality, while driving improvement initiatives and developing work methods that strengthen both efficiency and stability over time.
Kalmar Motor is in a strong growth phase where the need for structure, clarity, and efficient processes is central. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to building upon this—creating conditions for more predictable and scalable production as we grow.
We are therefore seeking a mature, confident, and experienced leader with a coaching and present leadership style. You have the ability to inspire and engage, create curiosity, and motivate people to contribute—both to the team's development and to the company's continued journey forward. The position is based in Kalmar, with working hours between 07:00–16:00, Monday to Friday. You will report to the Production Manager.
Qualifications
We are seeking an experienced and confident leader with a stable and mature approach to leadership. You have several years of experience in production management within the manufacturing industry, preferably from the automotive sector, as well as relevant technical education or equivalent work experience.
You thrive in a role close to operations where collaboration with colleagues, team leaders, and employees is a natural part of your daily work. With an inclusive and attentive leadership style, you create involvement and build trust, while being clear when needed.
You have experience in change management and are accustomed to bringing others along in development work. You actively work with Lean or similar improvement initiatives and are driven by developing processes, work methods, and workflows to create an efficient and stable production.
You remain calm and organized even in pressured situations and have a coaching approach that engages and develops those around you. Furthermore, you are well-organized and administratively confident, with experience using business systems and Microsoft Office. Strong skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, are required.
