About the role The Swedish product office for Small and Medium Caliber Ammunition (SMCA) owns the product portfolios of the Karlsborg and Vingåker units. As product manager you will be responsible for development, profitability and monitoring of the units' products. You will be based in Karlsborg but will work with products across the business area. You have a colleague in the same role based in Vingåker and your direct manager is based in Karlsborg. At the Karlsborg site we develop, manufacture and sell ammunition in calibers 4.6 mm - 9 mm. Your role is both strategic and operational in nature. You have many contact points and work in close collaboration with R&D, contracts office, sales and marketing organization as well as our customers. Your responsibilities and work tasks include: Profit responsibility for the product portfolio Acting as project owner for product development projects and driving the work forward Technical coordination for major tender and contract projects Planning, management and execution of customer demonstrations and trade shows Establishing and maintaining Sales Promotion materials Supporting the sales organization with technical marketing support Product training internally and externally Project management of customer qualification and development projects As product manager you report to the product area manager for SMCA but much of the day-to-day work is conducted with the local site organization responsible for operating the factory in Karlsborg. Our candidate To succeed in the role of product manager, above all you need well-developed commercial thinking, technical basic knowledge and an understanding of product development. You also master English in both speech and writing. Education-wise you have relevant education from university or college supplemented with a few years of experience from a similar role, preferably within the defense or defense materials industry. Alternatively, you may have a military officer background supplemented with commercial experience. As a person you are collaborative and social with the ability to build long-term relationships. You are communicative and attentive and can express yourself clearly to different audiences. Furthermore, you have a results focus, a good sense of business and act professionally both internally and externally.
