Process Developer at Outokumpu Avesta

We are now seeking a process developer for Engineering Steel Mill – a role for someone who wants to combine analysis, problem-solving, and change management in an international industrial environment.
About the Role
As a process developer, you play an important role in developing and optimizing our processes. You function as a specialist in your area and work closely with production to improve quality, increase efficiency, and create sustainable long-term solutions.
You drive development initiatives from idea to implementation and ensure that improvements have a tangible impact on operations. The role combines operational work in daily operations with a strategic focus on long-term development.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will, among other things:
Develop and optimize process methods to achieve goals in quality, cost, process time, and energy and environment
Analyze and monitor key metrics and support the organization in improvement efforts
Participate in daily management and contribute with solutions when deviations occur
Compile and analyze product deviations and ensure feedback and learning in the process
Coordinate change and improvement work within the process group
Participate in projects and be responsible for implementing new working methods and technical solutions
Contribute to work related to strategy, investments, and development initiatives
Collaborate with internal and external research and development partners
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with a technical background and a strong interest in process development and improvement work. You are analytical, driven, and comfortable translating data and insights into concrete results.
We believe you have:
A degree in engineering such as materials technology, process metallurgy, or mechanical engineering – or equivalent experience
Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Experience from manufacturing industry is a merit
Good system and computer skills, especially in the Office suite
We also welcome applications from newly graduated engineers with relevant education and a strong interest in development
As a person, you are structured, solution-oriented, and skilled at collaborating across different functions. You are comfortable communicating and presenting to different audiences.
