You will work closely with customers on projects ranging from concept and process design to installation and startup, with responsibility for technical documentation, sizing, and technical decisions that impact facility performance. In a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to creating resource-efficient production flows with a focus on energy, water, and waste reduction, as well as developments in automation and digital methods. The role is varied and combines office work with customer site visits, with close collaboration both within the team and cross-functionally within AFRY as needed. The position is based in Gothenburg. As a Process Engineer, you will often work on comprehensive assignments – either in-house or on customer projects – where you contribute across the entire chain from design to verification, which includes: Process design – designing parts of or entire processes Developing technical documentation, specifications, and requirements (e.g., flowcharts, specifications, procurement documentation) Technical procurement and supplier coordination Verification and commissioning support (FAT/SAT) You will also have the opportunity to work with: Concept and feasibility studies Process optimization in existing facilities (capacity, quality, energy, and sustainability) Qualifications We are looking for someone with experience in food process engineering who wants to continue growing in the role – both technically and in customer relations. You thrive in projects, enjoy collaborating, and like to share your knowledge. Requirements: Technical education at university level or equivalent acquired through work experience At least 3-5 years of experience as a process engineer in the food sector Experience leading others in your field Experience independently designing process engineering solutions, including component selection and sizing, P&ID, and participation in technical procurement Digital/AI maturity – you use tools that simplify and streamline your work Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written The position requires physical presence at customer sites, and travel with overnight stays is a natural part of the role.
