Do you want to develop and work with innovations in the energy of the future? Then you should apply for the position of Process Engineer in the Biogas Section at Uppsala Vatten & Avfall AB. About the position The Biogas Section is responsible for treating organic waste and producing biogas and biofertilizer. The section is also responsible for gas distribution and the operation of four gas filling stations and one hydrogen filling station. You will become part of a dedicated team of twelve employees and a section manager where you work together for safe, efficient and sustainable production. As a process engineer, you will have a central role in the daily operations and long-term development of our processes. The facility is technically advanced and encompasses the entire chain – from receiving organic waste to production and sales of finished vehicle gas. The role is varied and involves close collaboration with operations technicians, plant engineers and other functions within the operation. In the role, you will, among other things: • monitor, analyze and optimize our processes • conduct investigations and pre-studies and develop decision-making documents • participate in and drive projects related to development and improvements • work with process controls, sampling and testing • develop instructions, procedures and other technical documentation. You will also work with procurement together with the procurement function, participate in research and development projects, and contribute to developing our working methods and processes. The position also includes tasks related to supplier contacts and agreements, documentation, monitoring of regulatory requirements and permits, and work in maintenance, management and certification systems. On-call duty is included in the position approximately every eighth week. During on-call periods, you are responsible for operational monitoring of our process facilities, gas upgrading facilities and filling stations. If needed, you will also perform simple maintenance work as well as work with forklifts and loaders. Qualifications We are looking for you who have relevant engineering education or equivalent education in, for example, environmental and water technology, energy systems or related fields. You express yourself fluently in Swedish and have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written. You have good computer skills, a Class B driver's license and are comfortable in a role that combines practical work with administrative tasks. It is also meritorious if you have: • experience from biogas, water and sanitation or other process industry • experience in process development, investigations or research and development • knowledge within project management • experience in operations and maintenance work • experience reading drawings and CAD. Who are you? As a process engineer, you work closely with both the operations organization, other departments and external contractors. Therefore, it is important that you have good collaboration skills and enjoy building good relationships. You have a genuine technical interest and enjoy developing and improving working methods. You take responsibility for your tasks, work in a structured manner and have the ability to switch between practical and analytical work tasks. We also believe that you are unpretentious, take initiative and thrive in a role where no two days are alike. Start date is according to agreement, preferably as soon as possible.
