About the Role As Privacy Legal Counsel, you will have a key role in one of Europe's largest energy companies, where data protection and privacy are an integral part of the ongoing energy transition toward a sustainable society. You will be part of Vattenfall's Nordic legal department with approximately 25 colleagues specializing in various areas. This means you will work closely with experienced lawyers and other experts, with broad contact points across borders and business areas. About the Role As Privacy Legal Counsel, you will be part of our Group Data Protection Office, which operates at the group level. The team is responsible for strategy, framework, governance, and monitoring at the group level, and has a central role in supporting Vattenfall's Nordic companies in their data protection work. Here you will have the opportunity to combine legal expertise with business-focused advisory and contribute to solutions that make a real difference for Vattenfall's data protection. Your Tasks and Responsibilities: Provide qualified legal advice and support to business areas and support functions in the Nordic region regarding personal data processing and the application of data protection legislation, for example in connection with new digital initiatives and AI solutions. Stay updated on regulatory requirements, practices, and guidance from supervisory authorities and translate these into practical guidance and training for the business. Support the business in reviewing data processor agreements and other agreements or documents where data protection issues need to be addressed. In collaboration with other lawyers in the Group Data Protection Office and the group's data protection officer, contribute to maintaining and further developing control documents, templates, and processes within data protection, and support during audits. Develop and manage system support and produce statistical basis for data protection work within Vattenfall. Identify and provide legal support regarding data protection risks in the Nordic companies' operations, in connection with DPIAs and other risk assessments. Handle personal data incidents. Work closely with data protection coordinators, lawyers, IT, information security, and other relevant functions to ensure coherent and effective data protection work. Requirements We are looking for someone with: A law degree. Approximately 2-3 years of experience working with data protection issues and GDPR. It is advantageous if you have experience from other areas such as AI, IT, contract law, consumer law, information security, project management, process development, etc. We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, independent, and able to prioritize wisely when circumstances change. You thrive in a role with many contact points, where collaboration, curiosity, and the ability to build trust are important parts of your daily work.
