Job Responsibilities
Do you have a background in mechatronics, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science and are interested in medical robotics and human-in-the-loop control? If so, this position may be for you. We are seeking an ambitious, collaborative, and well-organized person for our team.
You will lead research work on human-in-the-loop control for medical robotics within the framework of cardiovascular engineering. The goal is to develop innovative control systems for optimized interaction between soft cardiovascular pumps and wearable biofeedback systems with the human body. You will have the opportunity to critically evaluate the safety of the new control system for real-world applications using a hybrid mock circulation. The unique system enables real-time testing in interaction with the dynamics of the human cardiovascular system in different patient populations. You are expected to publish independently in scientific journals and support the coordination of the research group and supervision of students.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be an integrated part of the growing Intelligent Heart Technology Lab, whose mission is to develop cardiovascular health technology, at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Systems. Read more about our research here. Throughout the project, you will work closely with stakeholders at clinics and international partners, which enables rapid learning and exchange of ideas with physicians.
